what is this ghost, which haunts me?
incorporeal yet before me
is this a dagger that i do see?
that points, and guides and directs me?
the sunbeam makes an ethereal
in the dusty air a glowing trail
can i hide beneath the stair?
and pass through fog and filthy air
oh sleep, precious sleeper
and dream not of me
for on quiet wing and heavy breath
you’ll pass the nod sea
the shadow of a cloud cast
as overhead it drifted past
moving at it’s pace not fast
till the sun is seen at last
there was a chill up my spine
causing me to pine
i turn to look behind
but being alone is mine
what is this ghost, which haunts me?
incorporeal though i can see
plain as day before me
you are the spirit disembodied
